We launched today at 17:30 EST, some pics are below. All was going well until the balloon reached 9908m when we lost communication. I believe this was due to distance. The balloon was travelling in an Easterly direction and at last reading was increasing speed and had reached 108km/h. Our chase vehicle was travelling in a north-easterly direction at the time. We decided to head to where the last predicted landing site was. We waited for an hour past the predicted landing time and did not receive any further signals. We covered about 50km around this area to see if we could get a signal but were unable to pick one up. We then had to admit defeat for the day as we no longer had light.
